Last night I was sitting in Kyle, Texas with my great friend Aaron King, (who by the way will be serving our country in Afghanistan this next year, so please pray for him) watching a lightning storm that only left one word in our vocab.  WOW!  The amount of energy and power that was in the sky was undeniable.  So often we see one or two cool lightning bolts and do not think anything of it, because its normal.  BUT why then was this lightning storm SOO special and remarkable?  The simple answer was the amount of lightning that was produced.  Never before had i seen such rapid and huge bolts of lightning shoot across a sky.  What made this more amazing, was the complete lack of thunder and rain.  Maybe it was just me being the emotional little girl I am, but this made me think a lot about our faith. 

Why do I seem to make such a little impact in the world by myself?   This thought came to my mind quickly when thinking about the UN amazement to me of a single bolt of lightning.  Can you guess where im going now...... I think I figured it out!  WE ARE NOT MEANT TO DO THIS THING ALONE!  Yes one bolt of lightning can have a huge impact, it is still powerful and full of energy, but when lightning fills up the sky...what is happening is undeniable and you are almost unable to ignore it.  It seemed as though the sky was putting on a show for us, working together to produce that amazement factor. 

Here is how I will end this... This "Amazement of Today" thing and the joy that comes with it, we have this opportunity everyday!  To love our husband and wife and continue to pursue them, even when they have hurt you..... To further the Kingdom of Heaven by opening the word of God to them and sharing life, and life more abundantly too.. its even sometimes just there in the place you are created by God.  Push out distractions every once in a while and recognize the opportunity you have, and the blessings God has provided to produce Amazement.  REMEMBER though, that living this life for God is NOT MEANT TO DO ALONE..we need encouragement, support, accountability, and truth.  HMMM (shameless plug but i dunno maybe this could be a body of believers at FBC) 

FINAL THOUGHT....  It is undeniable that with a sky full of lightning bolts people will notice, what about if we had a city full of people whose 1 aim was to share, teach, live, and love God with others.
